I can't believe it's already August! But that's how it goes and I'm happy it doesn't go too slow, can you imagine? Anyway, since I live in the Netherlands and the weather is constantly having mood changes, I decided to use all the twigs and sticks that various storms have blown away to decorate an old glass. Although it takes quite long to get all the sticks stuck onto the glass, the result is incredibly rewarding!

Do you ever feel like doing a quick and easy DIY project? You know, one that only takes 5 minutes because I know that those are actually my favourite projects! That is why I have a short, sweet DIY that can be used for a limitless amount of things. I proudly present to you these simple, recycled stars!
This year, in school, we were allowed to choose our own project! Since we have a few cool machines, I was determined to create something that would be useful and made with the laser cutter (which would be the first time for me). I decided to go for a good old box!
I know, I know it sounds really boring but it's so simple that I thought I could make it extra unique! If you want to make your own box, here's the place to be :D However, please note that I am not an expert in actual building tutorials, if I have missed something or given fague information please comment below so that I can specify :) Also, I needed to take most of these pictures at school which means the quality is not terific. *You can find the 'read more' button in the bottom right corner I know it's a little late but I just needed to share my excitement about the fact that the sun is finally showing itself! A few days ago I stepped on the aeroplane that took me towards Portugal. Although I love the different seasons and temperatures in the Netherlands, there is something incredibly relaxing about the thought of lying in a cool ocean with the warm sun touching my skin. I also love the colours of Portugal. The bright painted houses with the clear blue sky makes everything seem like a hazy daydream where time only plays a minor role. I don't know whether this will be a postivie change but my website didn't feel right. the time seemed too long and the pages seemed too boring. I suppose that at this point there is only one thing I can do, apologise. I haven't been doing any of the things I wanted to and know I've said this before but I really want to start this thing properly. I love the thought of finding a personal space on the internet and losing myself into my own words and thoughts. So from now on, I will try! I still won't update my blog as often as I should but I will update it a lot more than I do now.
I hope this is the last change I will have to make in a long time! In the May holiday I traveled to Scotland with my family and I discovered that I never really appreciated nature up until now. Scotland is full of hills, waterfalls and fields and every view is simply... breathtaking. Imagine waking up under a thick blanket after a cold night full of stars. You put on your thick, woolen socks and start to remember where you are. It's holiday, the weather is nice and you have a big breakfast ahead of you. You open the curtains and the sky is filled with mountains showing snowy tops as it embraces the morning mist. This will be another great day. These were all my mornings back in Scotland and I must admit, I enjoyed every second of it! I hope you can understand my enthusiasm when you see the photo's underneath. I have also started to appreciate long walks along beautiful views. It was a joy that I never used to understand, until now. I will go back that's certain.
Hope you liked it! P.S. I haven't forgotten about DIY, cooking and videos....I've just been a little behind but that will change! I hope :p If you're like me, there's a big chance that you get ill very easily! It's not as if I don't take care of myself, or fake being ill, I suppose I just have a bad immune system. Since I have the tendency to get bored easily, I decided that it would be important to tell you some random facts about me :)
You've probably noticed that I really haven't gotten very far with my February photography challenge and I'm honestly sorry for that but, to make it up to you, I will just show you a few snapshots of all the pictures I took on my lovely trip to London :)
RECIPE: This is my favourite recipe in the entire world. It is a recipe for Wellington Squares (aka millionaires shortbread). I realize that this isn't a very good photo but I honestly didn't have the slightest clue how to take a good picture of a recipe (that might be good practice). If you want to see the full recipe, feel free to visit my other website called: http://www.simplybecause.weebly.com I hope you like it :p PLAYED: As you may know, I love music. I love the sounds, I love the feeling of listening to a good song and I love to play it. I play piano, clarinet and guitar, but i felt like my guitar was the most photo genic. I hope i can upload a video of ke playing one of them for you one day...but for now, enjoy the picture :) |
